Coaching Supervision
for ICF Credential Candidates

LCN offers a new growth opportunity specifically designed for our candidates pursuing an ICF coaching credential.

On the International Coaching Federation (ICF) website, coaching supervision is described as a reflective learning process where a coach discusses their coaching work with an experienced supervisor in order to grow professionally and improve the quality of their coaching.

Coaching supervision = a structured conversation where a coach reflects on their coaching practice with a trained supervisor.

This is especially helpful for ICF credential candidates as they reflect on their coaching skills and prepare to submit a recorded conversation for their Performance Evaluation. Through reflective dialogue, the supervisor helps the coach examine what is happening in their coaching relationships and how to grow from these insights.

  • A coach may bring topics such as:
      • Challenging coaching situations or client cases
      • Ethical questions or boundary issues
      • Personal reactions to clients
      • Blind spots in their coaching
      • Questions about presence, approach, or impact
      • Issues or challenges faced on their ICF credential journey
  • How coaching supervision differs from mentor coaching
      • Mentor coaching: focuses on improving coaching skills and competencies for credentialing.
      • Coaching supervision: focuses more broadly on the coach’s self-awareness, ethics, and overall practice.

LCN has enlisted experienced coaches who will offer 1-2 hours each week for coaching supervision conversations with LCN members.

Here’s how it works:
1. Contact one of the coaches listed below to arrange a one-hour appointment.  Both individual and group (2 individuals) appointments are possible.  Please check with the coach listed below for more details.
2. In advance of your appointment, reflect on the issues most important to you right now and come prepared to discuss them.  This can certainly include issues related to your ICF Credential journey.
3. After your appointment, complete a simple survey offering feedback about your experience.
